On My Target Shopping List

It's impossible to get out of Target with only what was on your shopping list but this time I'm going in with these two babies on my list and you should add them too!

Target Runner and Some Dog Shaming

I was really looking forward to posting today about the awesome runner I bought for my kitchen at Target over the weekend.  How the pattern and color was perfect and how comfy it is under the toes when cooking. Oh and it was a great deal at only $40!

But then I came home from work to this...

Apparently Olive liked it too.

I couldn't give up on this runner yet ($40 isn't really a great deal if you only get 2 days out of it) so I gave it a little hair cut and left it.

Work with what you got ;-)

The "Just the Basics" Couple

I had a really tough time coming up with a name for this board.  It's for the couple that's style doesn't fall into a nice neat category like "modern" or "country" or "traditional".  It's young, fresh, and a little contemporary.

Everything pictured above is from Target.  Direct links can be found on my Pinterest Board!

Target Style

Lately Target has been killing it when it comes to the home decor!  Between the Threshold and the Nate Berkus line I can't get enough!  Target is always a go-to source for me when it comes to home styling pieces (among other things... but seriously, who doesn't walk into Target for mouthwash and leave spending $100?!)  Here are a few of my favorite pieces sure to give your coffee table or bookcase a style boost!

Gold Polka Dots

Lately I have been obsessed with everything gold including gold polka dots.  I love how they are playful but the gold keeps them feeling a little modern- the polka dot for grown ups!  Here is a round-up of all my favorite gold polka dots out there!

Target Update... Again!

One more target update... I did some digging and found the collection I had featured here last week.  It is called Modern Cottage at Target.  You can shop for most of the pieces on their website.

Also- all of the Neiman Marcus collection is 70% off!  Finally things are at a more appropriate price for Target :-)  I picked up this Marc Jacobs rose gold metallic leather pouch this weekend for only $20.99!

Sunburst Mirror for Less

I've been wanting a sunburst mirror for above our bed for a while now and was pretty much set on the Bellesol Mirror from Ballard Design but for $169 I felt like I could probably find it cheaper if I kept searching Homegoods.
Bellesol Mirror - Ballard Design

I was at Target to pick up a few things and spotted this Threshold Sunburst mirror for only $39.99!!!

Total bargain and looks SO much like the Ballard mirror!  I bought it on the spot, took it home and had my hubby put it up during halftime of one of the zillion football games on this weekend.

Loving it right??

Target Update

After seeing that photo yesterday from TargetDoesItAgain I made certain I got myself over to Target- but imagine my disappointment when my Target didn't have that collection.  I'm holding out hope that it goes online soon or better yet comes to my local Target!  But my frown was turned upside when I saw these two lovely displays!

What do you guys think?  I love all of the color and pattern- it gets me in the mood for warmer weather!  The first one feels very Anthropologie to me while the second one is more West Elm / Crate and Barrel.   Either way you can't go wrong here- and did I mention nothing was over $69.99!  I wasn't able to find a name for these collections but everything is Threshold.

Target Does It Again

Happy New Year!  I just got back from Key West yesterday and ready to blog!  Getting a break from the cold with sunshine and friends was much needed but now it's back to work.  Since I spent some quality time in the airport I got my fair share of Pinterest-time and Instagram-time.  I am slightly obsessed with @targetdoesitagain  - these ladies are digging through the shelves of Target daily and when I saw this pic I had to share...

I'm obsessed.  I love the combo of coral, navy and mint.  Doesn't this feel so fresh and clean and ready for spring?  I will definitely be at target tomorrow!!  I see some major potential for my home office and living room.

Nate Berkus for Target

As I was perusing the Home aisles at Target I saw Nate Berkus' new book, The Things That Matter and had to have it.  He writes about his life, his experiences and how it all shaped the style of his home (which is gorgeous).  He also shows a handful of other homes that he's designed including Dr. Ruth, yes that Dr. Ruth!.

Favorite quote from the book: "For me, the most successful interiors in the world are put together by people who surround themselves with objects that bring them joy."

Here's a few of my favorite from his Target Collection which you can purchase online here.

Home for the Holidays

I love having the house decorated for Christmas.  It makes it feel so warm and cozy.  Since we've only been in our house for a year we really don't have much Christmas decor but I think I've got a good start and can definitely add to it every year.  A great way to keep your decorations from looking too choppy and scattered is to pick a, dare i say it... theme.  I chose red as my main color with accents of gold.  So I added gold ribbon to the tree and gold ornaments to the garland.  I used red berries in the garland, in some of my everyday objects in the house (the lanterns and the pitcher) and one of the pillows I chose had red berries.  It's gotta be subtle to work but it really creates a cohesive look throughout the house.

We cut down our tree ourselves for this first time this year- didn't we get a great looking tree?!

Stockings from Pottery Barn.  I bought the garland pre-lit at Lowe's and then hot glued ornaments and berries in it.  Stocking holders are from Target.

The lanterns are on the hearth year-round but I added some berries to get them looking festive!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Holiday Pillows

Hello December- Where did you come from?!  The past few months have flown by for me!  We had a really busy year with all of the wedding planning for our wedding this past July, getting the pup in September and we've still only been in our new house for a year!  Last week we got our tree and I pulled out all of our Christmas decorations... which fits in one Rubbermaid tub (so sad)... so I've been on a mission to shop for decorations to put our house in the Christmas spirit.

First stop- holiday pillows!

Berry Wreath- Pottery Barn

Christmas Tree Crewel- Pottery Barn

Really love this one from Etsy shop The Lauren Collection- here!

And this fun bolster from Target- here!

Here's what I ended up with... all from Pottery Barn.

Nothing says winter like cable-knit sweaters!

Make sure you check back tomorrow for the rest of my holiday decorations!
