Wall Stencils for the Modern Home

Today is all about wall stencils (please don't click away)  I know exactly what you're thinking- but I promise there is no ivy, hearts or flowers involved.  I can still remember the ivy my mom painstakingly stenciled in one of the bedrooms of our house growing up.  Modern day stenciling is all about doing an overall pattern that mimics a look of wallpaper without all the mess and the price.  I stumbled upon these great stencils by Cutting Edge Stencils on etsy and now I'm hooked.

Zamira

I'm so crazy for this, especially in metallic paint.  Doesn't it look like a super ritzy wallpaper?

Heritage Grill

You could even stencil on a simple jute area rug!

Chevron

After racking my brain trying to come up with a place in my house I could use this I decided on my closet!  I love patterns in unlikely places and there's a little less pressure for it to be "perfect" when trying it out in a closet.  And it gives me motivation to actually clean and purge things in my closet!

I just placed my order for the Herringbone pattern!

Hopefully after this weekend I'll have an update for you all!

Etsy Round Up : Ikat

It is finally feeling like spring here in Philadelphia and I could not be more excited!  We just got our outdoor lounge furniture assembled out on our freshly stained deck- all thanks to my husbands hard work this weekend!  Can't wait to put the finishing touches on it and then share with all of you!  (my outdoor lounge design here) This weekend I did some Homegoods browsing and found two new pillows for the family room sofa. (don't worry the cable knit sweater pillow is on it's way to the closet!)

Ikat is such a great summery print.  Here are some of my favorite ikat items from Etsy!

Holiday Pillows

Hello December- Where did you come from?!  The past few months have flown by for me!  We had a really busy year with all of the wedding planning for our wedding this past July, getting the pup in September and we've still only been in our new house for a year!  Last week we got our tree and I pulled out all of our Christmas decorations... which fits in one Rubbermaid tub (so sad)... so I've been on a mission to shop for decorations to put our house in the Christmas spirit.

First stop- holiday pillows!

Berry Wreath- Pottery Barn

Christmas Tree Crewel- Pottery Barn

Really love this one from Etsy shop The Lauren Collection- here!

And this fun bolster from Target- here!

Here's what I ended up with... all from Pottery Barn.

Nothing says winter like cable-knit sweaters!

Make sure you check back tomorrow for the rest of my holiday decorations!
