E-Design : Dallas Apartment

I'm working with a client right now that is moving from New Jersey to Dallas to a 1 bedroom apartment.  He's a 20-something single guy who is looking for his place to be "grown up". I was really excited for the opportunity to work with him because I'm usually designing for women and my own personal style can be somewhat more feminine.  During our initial phone call he said he knows what he likes when he sees it but can't really describe it, so I started with some inspiration photos to see what he liked.

Here are the photos I sent him (all via Pinterest)

He said he liked all of them but the first two were his favorite.  From there I put together this e-design board and after a few revisions with the rug we came up with a winner!
The round blob in the top center is the paint color Benjamin Moore- Pashmina AF-100.  Since my client likes classic movies I chose two movies posters he could frame and hang.  The drapes will be used on a sliding glass door to replace the existing vertical blinds.  Also important to note- everything on this board came to under $2,000.  Great design is possible with any size budget!  Can't wait to see the finished product and I will definitely be sharing those photos with all of you!

  1. I like your design for the apartment! I think renters can get some inspiration out of these pictures themselves if they want to design their own rentals. Thanks for showing us that having a theme makes it easier to bring the vision to life.
