Fashion Friday : Damsel in Dior

Fashion Friday is back on the blog and coming in strong with an amazing look from Jacey Duprie- the fashion maven of Damsel in Dior.  I’m a “regular” when it comes to reading her blog!  I love the way she can rock jeans and a t-shirt one day and the next day's post a high-end designer dress.  When I first saw this look, Print & Polly I have to confess what first caught my eye was her adorable bulldog and the overall composition of these photographs. And then onto the outfit- I love the way she paired this tribal print dress with a clean sophisticated pair of heels and classic black sunglasses.

I was inspired by that bohemian-tribal print mixed with tailored, clean style and wanted to pull that together in a room.  I worked from the colors in the dress as well as things I felt completed the “modern-boho” look.  Enjoy!

My San Francisco/Sonoma Vacation

As you might remember just two weeks ago my husband and I took an early anniversary trip to San Francisco and Sonoma.  We spent two days in San Francisco and the rest in Sonoma.  Here are a few of my favorite photos I snapped along the way!

First stop was San Francisco...

A very foggy and windy bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge
(please don't judge me by my leather jacket- I wasn't prepared for a bike ride)

I could've watched those seals for days
After San Francisco it was off to Sonoma with a quick stop at Muir Woods
(I might be the first person to ever go there in a skirt and flip flops- again, please don't judge me :-/ )

 Last stop- Wine Country!

Champagne tasting in a cave? Yes, please!

And at the end of our trip our friends The Parker's joined us!

We had a great time in San Francisco and Sonoma- it's one of my favorite trips I've taken.  Beautiful scenery, delicious fresh food and the wine isn't bad either ;-)

Ceramic Letter Dishes and My 100th Post!

First let me start by sharing that this is my 100th post!!  Thank you all so much for reading- I love writing this blog so I really appreciate all of your support!

Last week while browsing through Pinterest I saw these great white letter dishes at Amazon that I had to share.

They're simple, serve a purpose and for only $9 a plate- they're a bargain!
They'd be a great addition to a baby/bridal shower or just styling around the house.  They're 6" long so they're perfect size for serving fruit, veggies, candy, olives or nuts.

I went back and forth with what to get-  I love a monogram but we have A LOT of R's around the house so I finally settled on...

Welcome Summer- Nautical Favorites

It has been too long friends!  My apologies for disappearing the past week.  After getting back from our amazing vacation in San Francisco/Sonoma (more details to come on that!) things were a little hectic around here with a nasty cold working its way through the house and the normal craziness that follows after taking a week long vacation but I am happy to say I am back and so excited to be blogging again!  Big thank you to Grady for guest blogging for me!

Happy belated Memorial Day everyone!  Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer so to welcome the warm weather and waves that come with summer today I'm sharing a few of my favorite nautical things!

Fashion Friday : Gal Meets Glam

I am so excited about this weeks Fashion Friday featuring Julia of Gal Meets Glam.  She is one of my favorite fashion bloggers, I am always checking her blog.  I'm embarrassed by how many times I've bought something after seeing her wear it!  Anyways, enough gushing, I chose her outfit "Quilt Print" for today's inspiration.

I chose some toned down pastels for accent pillows and a great "staple" couch.

New Obsession: Crane & Canopy

While searching around the Internet for duvets for a client I found my new favorite source for bedding!  Crane & Canopy has really beautiful modern bedding at an equally beautiful price!  All of their sheets and duvets are 300 - 400 thread count and the designs are all their own.  And free return shipping- in case you can't decide and want to order a few options!

And- for all of you that have been pinning beautiful beds like crazy, trying to achieve the perfectly layered bed- they've made it simple by creating their "signature" duvet so it looks like you have the flat sheet perfectly folded over your duvet.

This is the duvet I found for my client's bedroom

 The Noe Duvet
Queen Size: $129

See how it looks like a coordinating flat sheet is tucked over the duvet?  It's really just the opening of the duvet cover- so all you have to do is pull it over your bed and you've got a perfectly layered bed!

A few of my other favorites

Right now I'm torn between these two beauties...
I love the subtle embroidery on this duvet- Only $139 for King

Pintuck in white is so lux and the price can't be beat- also $139 for King Size!

Please note this is NOT a sponsored post- I am really that obsessed with them!

By the way- did you see my new picture? Stay tuned for more to on my amazing photoshoot this weekend with Gina DiSanto.
